2nd Grade
Happy Fall! The second grade students in rooms 111 and 112 have been doing great work so far this year! Starting in mid-November, the students will be working on How-To's in reading and writing. You can help at home by showing your kids any how-to's you may use. How-to's include recipes and cookbooks, manuals, and directions. Also, remember to read, READ, READ at home every night, as well as during any breaks. Please help your children to memorize their full names, addresses, and phone numbers. It became apparent that many of our students do not know these and they are very important pieces of information to know. The second graders will be tested on this coming up. In social studies, we are focusing on learning about the continents and oceans. Students have been sent home a map to study at home. In math, the students are contimuing to work really hard on identifying and counting money. Encourage them to count coins at home, as well as asking them to tell the time. Continue working on those math facts! CONGRATULATIONS to those students who have passed their weekly fact test!! |
