It’s the last month of our second grade school year and we are working hard to learn as much as we can! We have just finished taking our writing and math interim tests. In literacy, students will be spending this month reading and writing poetry. Congratulations to some of Ms. Snihur’s students who will be having their haiku poems published in the National Schools Project. A copy of the book will be placed in Gust’s library in the fall of 2013.
It is important your children continue their hard work and learning over the summer on order to have a successful start to 3rd grade. Please encourage your child to read at least 30 minutes each day over the summer, write down some of their favorite days in a journal, and practice their addition and subtraction facts. Our second graders have worked so hard and grown so much that we hope they will continue all they have learned throughout their days off.
We will be going to the Museum of Nature and Science on May 16 to culminate all of our learning this year. A permission slip has been sent home. Also look for information to come home on we will be celebrating our end of the year.
